I have some shirts, mostly light blue, that have yellow stains probably from a mixture of sweat skin oils and deodorant, on the collar, armpit and down the centre of the back of some work shirts. They have been on for over 6 months and don’t come out with regular washing.
I am hoping they can be saved but not sure if it’s too late given how long the stain has been on the shirts.
If possible, how do I save these shirts and how can I look after new shirts to prevent these types of stains from building up? And does the colour or fabric of the shirt affect what treatment to use?
Many thanks in advance.

Try an acidic cleaner as a prewash – Ajax Spray and Wipe for example. squirt it on, rub in and rinse. If that doesn’t work, try sugar soap. If that doesn’t work, Preen OxyAction Gold – spray it on and leave it – give the peroxide time to work. Might need to repeat. One of those should work.
