Fill a container with water to the brim. Then put it in a saucer of some sort so that any overflow will be caught. Weigh the solid object. Then place the solid material in the container so that it overflows into the saucer. Then remove the container and measure how much water has overflown (either by weight or by volume).
The density is then the weight of the solid divided by the volume that overflowed.
So if the solid weighed 200g, and 100mL (or 100g) ow ater overflowed, the density is 200/100 = 2g/mL
