What I can use on a hard black plastic handle of a large cooks’ knife ??
The plastic has become quite sticky and uncomfortable to use. It feels like the plastic is “bleeding” one of its chemicals !
This has also happened on the small paring knife in the same set.
The knives came from Amway, and the black plastic has a slightly “cushioned” feel ( different from the. hard plastic handle of a Wiltshire knife ).
Is it because I have had the knives stored in a knife block
for several years, on the kitchen bench ??

That’s a tricky one. Not sure what that’d be – evidently the plastic is degrading somehow. For no particular reason I’d try oven cleaner. Spray it on, rud in with a gloved hand and rinse off. If that doesn’t do it, try some clear lacquer from Bunnings. Hopefully that’ll seal the surface.
